STATE OF AND PROSPECTS FOR SOCIO-ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT OF AGROINDUSTRIAL PRODUCTION IN SIBERIA

Abstract

The problems of socio-economic development of agroindustrial production in Siberia have been considered. The internal and external factors negatively impacting the development of agribusiness industry (ABI) have been determined. It has been revealed that the outdated material and technical basis of the Siberian ABI, a low level of innovations in agroindustrial production, instability of prices at agriproduct markets, price disparity, and insufficient support of the state for agricultural producers set conditions for low competitiveness of agricultural produce. The necessity of innovative development of agroindustrial production has been shown. The strategic goals and tasks of the ABI development have been determined. There is given a forecast of production and consumption of agricultural produce in the long run based on the development of techno-technological potential, improvement of organizational-economic mechanism of agriculture functioning, and expected changes in the solvent demand of the population. The main directions in the development of Siberian ABI have been proposed.
