A.S. Donchenko's scientific works are devoted to the creation of highly effective science-based resource-saving technologies in animal husbandry and veterinary medicine, veterinary diagnostics, chemical preparations and veterinary devices. In co-authorship he has developed effective test systems for diagnostics of tuberculosis, leukosis, classical swine fever, infectious rhinotracheitis, viral bovine diarrhea and diseases of red deer on the basis of biotechnological methods. A highly effective antituberculosis drug niazon has also been proposed for veterinary practice. Ways of increasing natural resistance of the animal organism with the help of immunomodulators (polyribonate, ridostin) have been developed. These drugs are also used as adjuvants to increase the protective properties of weakly immunogenic vaccines against tuberculosis, horse strangles.
Results of the scientist's research have been published in 824 scientific papers, including 74 monographs, textbooks, manuals, 28 reference books, concepts, programs, projects, 75 scientific and methodological recommendations, forecasts, leaflets, 36 copyright certificates, patents, diagnostic test systems, breeds (sheep, red deer), instructions and veterinary rules, 16 foreign monographs, reference books and articles.
